About Andrew and Abi Tunstall
Andrew was born in Perth, Scotland and grew up in South Africa where he started running competitively in high school, specialising at 800m which he raced to the age of 27. He then started cycling and swimming, and went on to represent South Africa at triathlon. In 2002 he won his first national duathlon age-group title, then won three more in 2014, 2015 and 2016, representing South Africa at the World Championships each year. His best place finish was 6th in 2014. Recently he has been focussing more on Mountain Biking and Trail Running, with podium finishes in the 2015 Addo Elephant 44km Trail (2nd) and the 2016 Ultima Frontera 55km Trail (3rd). He is easily distracted by canoeing, mountain climbing and trying to play his guitar.
Abi was born in Newcastle, England and grew up in South Africa. She started running in her late twenties and finished her first of three Two Oceans 56k Marathons in 2000. At 28 Abi became a National Champion at duathlon, and represented South Africa in the 25-29 age group at the World Triathlon Championships in Cancun. In 2015 she finished the 90km PuFfer Ultra Trail in Cape Town. Abi prefers to run with company because she is a chatterbox.
Abi and Andrew live in the south of Spain with their two beautiful daughters Lucy and Sarah.
